The Kosernakov name stands for many things. Firstly it’s a village in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland. It’s customary in Finish culture that the landowner takes the land’s name as a surname. And that’s how the Koskenkorva Vodka became to be a piece of land, a family, and last but not least, an award-winning drink. The people of the village have been cultivating barley for multiple generations. The sense that ‘land is stronger than blood’ really is strong in this neck of the woods. And so is the close collaboration between the local farmers and the distillery.
